Looking for new bathroom worktops, but still haven’t decided about the colour and material? Each of the materials we offer, meaning quartz, granite and marble, has their own characteristics it is recognized by. You should choose the one that fits your style of use the best. Here, we are bringing a brief overview of the characteristics of each of the materials, to help you decide which one is the best for you.
At Inova Stone, we offer quartz, marble and granite bathroom worktops from well-known brands in Surrey and surrounding areas.
Marble
Marble is considered the most beautiful stone out there. It is recognized by its veining that can be bold or distinct, depending on the style you choose to go for. Marble is relatively easy to maintain: the cleaning is easy with just soap and water. However, it should be sealed 2-4 times a year, to make its surface less porous. Marble is prone to staining, so you should be careful with liquids that can leave a stain, such as a nail polish or hair colour.
Granite
Granite is also a natural stone that is known for its hardness and durability. It handles high temperature very well and you can put away a hot hair dryer on it without the worries of damaging it. When it comes to cleaning, what applies to marble, applies to granite also. The only difference is that granite may require less frequent sealing, 1-2 times a year.
Quartz
Quartz is, unlike marble and granite, a manufactured stone. Because of that, it has the widest colour palette out of the three. It also has a completely non-porous surface, which makes cleaning even easier. You will not have to worry about stains with it and it doesn’t need sealing.
Price, Supply & Fitting
The prices of bathroom worktops can differ depending on the material and colour. Generally speaking, natural stones are more expensive than quartz, but that all depends on the colour. The rarer the colour is, the more expensive it will be. Other aspects that will shape the price are the size you need and any special treatments.
The prices for natural stone worktops are starting from over £300 per square meter and for quartz worktops from £250 per square meter.
